Ka Lae 2 Solar Farm
Ka Lae 2 Solar farm
Project Summary
Pivot Energy and Arion Energy are developing a 0.50 MWac Solar PV Generation Plant covering 3.49 acres on the South side of Hawai’i Island (Nāʻālehu). The project will provide renewable solar power to HECO’s electric power grid and provide households access to participate in the program.
The Ka Lae 2 Solar Farm provides energy bill savings to subscribers, including households, local businesses, and organizations, brings local jobs and economic benefits, and helps the Island of Hawai’i transition to clean, renewable energy. Renewable energy can help increase grid reliability, improve air quality, and improve public health.

OUR PROCESS
How Shared Solar Works
Shared solar, also called Community Based Renewable Energy (CBRE), is a program where customers can subscribe to participate in local solar energy projects and receive solar bill credits, reducing the cost of their electric bills.
Projects on the island will provide clean, renewable energy and guaranteed savings to households as well as local businesses.
Based on archaeological and field studies, these projects are not expected to impact cultural activities, archaeological, or natural resources. However, we welcome comments from residents in the surrounding communities.
About
Benefits of Shared Solar
